THC vs CBD

THC: Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the primary psychoactive cannabinoid in cannabis. The psychoactive component can cause an intoxicating effect, which essentially is responsible for the “high” feeling.

CBD: Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occuring cannabinoid in cannabis that provides significant health benefits without the psychoactive effect of THC. Interestingly enough, CBD actually counteracts the psychoactivity of THC. Some patients prefer CBD dominant cannabis due to treatment options that do not include the feelings of lethargy.

Types of Strains & Characteristics

Sativa : Sativa strains are typically associated with higher energy and creativity. These strains have a longer flowering cycle and cosmetically have thinner leaves.

Indica :
Indica strains are typically associated with relaxation, quiet time, and tranquility. These strains have a shorter flowering cycle and broader leaves.

Hybrid :
As the name would imply, a hybrid is simply a mixture of the indica and sativa strains.

Terpenes: Terpenes are simply aromatic compounds produced by plants - including cannabis. The terpenes in cannabis can help drive the effects felt by the specific strain.
